THE MULTILEDGE

- Rigid platform when pumped to intended pressure

- Comfortable to sleep on when air is released to desired softness

- Light (7.66 lbs total kit), and forgo your old sleeping pad

- Durable and reinforced for rock contact

- Quick setup time (full inflation in 2-3 minutes)

- Adjustable suspension enables use on varying wall angles

- Insulated, reduces heat transfer comparable to other sleeping pads

- Strong - We will need >9 kN to find the average breaking limit in future tests

- Multiple uses (belay ledge, sleeping ledge, sleeping pad, crash pad, paddle board, hanging table, and more)

We Develop Novel Gear

This company started when we designed a portaledge that is light and more rigid than other portaledges, solving a problem posed to many big wall climbers. Our goal is to continue this process of designing, prototyping, testing, and perfecting novel gear for mountaineering problems that we want to solve.

Our namesake

FME is short for Freebird R&D Mountain Equipment. Our logo is a symbolic representation of the swallows, swifts, and peregrine falcons that are familiar to all big wall climbers. To observe these birds on a big wall is a unique experience worthy of the work it takes to share a home with these birds for a night. We are thrilled to be able to provide gear that will help more people experience this surreal feeling.
